Key Actives
Active Intelligence, Gulf-Engineered
Every Cx Lab formulation deploys a precise architecture of clinically validated actives, stability-tested at 50°C and 80% humidity. We do not overload. We engineer.
Multi-Molecular Hydration Complex
Staged hydration across epidermal layers. Compensates for AC-induced TEWL and 80% humidity occlusion.
Sodium Hyaluronate (multi-weight)
Function: Glycosaminoglycan binding up to 1,000x its weight in water. Deployed across multiple molecular weight fractions to target hydration at distinct epidermal depths.
Gulf Relevance: Validated under 80% RH and 50°C stability. Maintains viscosity under thermal cycling without syneresis.
Core to: HV-30 Hydraveil Serum, JM-50 Jelly Mask
Sodium PCA + Urea
Function: Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) components. Sodium PCA is the most hygroscopic NMF element; Urea provides dual humectant and mild keratolytic activity.
Gulf Relevance: Restores NMF depleted by forced-air AC dehumidification. Critical in sub-20% RH interior environments.
Barrier Restoration Triad
Reconstitutes the lipid molar ratio disrupted by AC shock cycling. Matches endogenous lamellar body composition.
Ceramide AP / EOP / NP
Function: Three physiologically identical ceramide species matching endogenous stratum corneum lamellar body composition. Delivered simultaneously to reconstruct the ceramide-cholesterol-fatty acid molar ratio.
Gulf Relevance: Addresses chronic AC-induced lipid depletion. Supports barrier architecture compromised by thermal cycling (22°C indoor to 50°C outdoor).
Core to: FV-30 Fortiveil Serum
Cholesterol + Phytosphingosine
Function: Cholesterol completes the lipid molar ratio; Phytosphingosine functions as a ceramide biosynthesis precursor and antimicrobial epidermal lipid.
Gulf Relevance: Supports complete lamellar body reconstruction under sustained thermal stress conditions.
Found in: FV-30
Clinical UV Defense System
Photostable broad-spectrum protection validated at 50°C+. Maintains SPF integrity under Gulf UV index 11+ without photodegradation.
Zinc Oxide + Titanium Dioxide
Function: Inorganic physical UV filters providing broad-spectrum UVA/UVB coverage via photon scattering and absorption. Photostable at 50°C+ with zero photodegradation.
Gulf Relevance: Unlike organic-only filters, the physical filter system does not degrade under Gulf UV index 11+ irradiation, maintaining consistent protection.
Core to: STB-50, STL-50 Skinveil Tint SPF 50
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S)
Function: Oil-soluble broad-spectrum UV filter with exceptional photostability, covering both UVA and UVB wavelengths.
Gulf Relevance: Maintains SPF integrity at 50°C+ without photodegradation under sustained Gulf UV exposure.
Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol (Tinosorb M)
Function: Broad-spectrum UVA/UVB filter providing dual organic/inorganic UV absorption and scattering. Exceptional photostability at 50°C+.
Gulf Relevance: Zero photodegradation under sustained Gulf UV exposure. Completes the multi-filter broad-spectrum architecture.
Antioxidant Network
Neutralizes UV-induced free radicals and oxidative stress. Supports collagen integrity under sustained heat exposure.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
Function: Multifunctional active: ceramide synthesis upregulation, melanosome transfer inhibition, TEWL reduction, sebum regulation. Heat-stable at 50°C+.
Gulf Relevance: Functions without photosensitisation risk in UV-intensive Gulf climates. Present in 9 of 12 SKUs.
Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate + Ascorbyl Palmitate
Function: Water-stable and lipid-soluble Vitamin C derivatives. Enzymatically converted to active L-ascorbic acid in the epidermis.
Gulf Relevance: Significantly more stable than L-ascorbic acid under Gulf UV and thermal exposure. Validated under UV simulation at index 11+.
Thioctic Acid (Alpha-Lipoic Acid)
Function: Dithiolane-ring antioxidant functioning as both hydrophilic and lipophilic free-radical scavenger, enabling activity across all skin compartments.
Gulf Relevance: Targets oxidative stress from sustained UV index 11+ and ozone exposure.
Found in: CC-50 Calmeeclat Cream, STB-50, STL-50
Clinical Soothing Complex
Targets barrier calming and redness reduction. Relevant in AC shock cycling environments where rapid humidity transitions compromise epidermal integrity.
Allantoin + Bisabolol
Function: Keratolytic and sesquiterpene alcohol with anti-inflammatory properties. Enhance cell turnover, reduce surface irritation, support barrier restoration following environmental stress.
Gulf Relevance: Clinically relevant in AC shock cycling environments where rapid humidity transitions compromise epidermal integrity.
Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)
Function: Enzymatically converted to Pantothenic Acid, functioning as coenzyme A precursor supporting keratinocyte metabolism and barrier lipid synthesis.
Gulf Relevance: Widest-distributed active in the Cx Lab range, present in 10 of 12 SKUs. Clinically documented for TEWL reduction and anti-inflammatory activity.
Found in: 10 of 12 SKUs - see individual product pages
